The European railway network is changing constantly and no atlas can ever be completely up to date. To help readers keep up with the situation this page will list those changes and corrections that I am aware of, with the latest information shown at the top. Some very minor changes and certain changes too complicated to describe have been omitted. The date is the date the item was added - not the date of the event. west or Marbach. Frome there to Freiberg is now double track, the bit to Marbach
will stay single.
61B3 Add a station at Malmsheim between Renningen and Weil der Stadt; from
Malmsheim to Weil is single track. 61B2 Böblingen - Sindelfingen - Maichingen
will be re-opened for passenger trains (S-Bahn Stuttgart) during 2010.
Maichingen - Renningen will follow 2011 or 2012.

21-02-10 Moldova: 109B2
There is a new (presumably single track) passenger line south from Cahul to a
new station at Giurgiulesti in the extreme SW tip of Moldova. The line goes on,
freight only, from there to join the Reni - Galati line. Not sure which way the
junction faces at this point.
21-02-10 Romania: 107C3 There is a west to south
freight curve avoiding Holod (also 102A4 & 99A4). 107C4 The line from Marghita
should enter Sacuieni Bihor from the south end. There is also a south to east
curve avoiding Sacuieni used by one passenger train a day (also 98C4). 111B5 At
Slobozia Veche there is a south to east curve. The station should be at the
southern end of the resulting triangle; the direct east to west part of the
triangle is OOU. 111C5 The line south of Medgidia has been altered. It now joins
the main line in a triangle junction between Medgidia and Dorobantu. Passenger
trains thus enter Medgidia from the east end and there is a freight curve going
east to Dorobantu. 108A2 show Brad to Paulis OOU (track largely stolen!). 108A2
Show a south to east passenger curve avoiding Simeria (single track?). 108A2 the
Slatna branch leave Alba Iulia station from the north end. Barabant station is
on the main line north of
Alba
Iulia. 108C5 show Gura Putnei
to Nisipitu line OOU (washed out and unlikely to reopen) also 118B1. 108C5 Siet
branch closed & OOU (also 118C1). 108C5 Suceava Nord station should be at the NW
end of the triangle (also 118C1). 108C1 Shorten Slanic branch by 10km and make
terminal station Poiana Slanic. Poiana Slanic to Slanic is closed due to a
failed bridge and will not reopen. 109A1 there is an east to north avoiding
freight curve to the east of Buzau. 109A2 Panciu branch leaves from the north
end of Marasesti station. 109B1 the Giurgeni branch leave from the south end of
Tandarei station but is now OOU. 109A1 there is a south to north freight
avoiding line to the east of Faurei. 109A1 just to the west of these two lines
and connected to Faurei is an electrified test track. 109B3 Falciu Nord ststion
should be Falciu. Falciu Nord is a short distance to the north, branching off
from Falciu station.
21-02-10 Portugal: 21B1 Reduce Santa Vitoria -Ervidal
and Torre Va to 'other locations'. 21B2 Change Bombel, Aguas de Moura, Pinheiro and Torre de Gadanha
from passenger stations to 'other locations'. 20C3 Passenger services suspended
between Tua and Pocinho UFN. Bus replacement. 21A3 Change name Badajoz-Elvas to Caia.
21-02-10 Spain: 20B4 remove
Astorga-Zamora-Salamanca-21A3 Placenscia disused freight line. 20B5 Reduce the
old Burgos station to an 'other location', line through it to freight status and
rename Burgos AVE to Burgos Rosa de Lima. 20B4 remove Valladolid - 22C1 Ariza
disused freight line. 21C3 Remove narrow gauge freight line west of Huelva. 21B5
reduce Montoro to 'other location'. 21C4 remove south to east curve at Utrera.
21C5 rename main Malaga station to Malaga (Maria Zambrano). Reduce old line
between Malaga and Cordoba to secondary status. 23A2 Halve length of Riba-Roja
branch, delete Riba-Roja station and change name of terminal station to
Xirivella-L'Alter. 23C1 Aguilas to Lorca is open to passengers (Cercanias
services only - no RENFE).
16-01-10 Italy: 83A1
Bologna Central to 83B1 Firenza HSL is now open (also enlargement). On
enlargement add a link from the HSL to the existing line just north of
Firenze Castello allowing access from the HSL to Firenze SMN station. The
new HSL line station (to be Firenze Belfiore) opens May 2014.
16-01-10 Great Britain: 14B4 line double tracked
three miles either side of Axminster. Mark 18B4 Hayes to 17A1 Newbury, Oxford,
14A4 Bristol Temple Meads and 14A3 Swansea UE.
Mark 15A3 Liverpool to 15A5 Manchester via Earlstown
UE. Also the 15A4 St Helens Central line
and Manchester to 15A4 Bolton, 12C4 Preston and Blackpool North.
